The Port Augusta Pony Club is holding our annual March Gymkhana on Sunday 14th March.

Th Gymkhana runs a two ring program comprising of EA Affiliated hacking, unofficial showjumping and novelties.

The hacking includes Pony, Galloway, Hack, Show Hunter and Pony Club classes. There are led-only and Novice Combination classes to encourage those less experienced competitors!

Novelties will be run once the hacking is finished!

The day before on Saturday 13th March the Competitor’s Association is holding a hack show being organised by Rebecca. You must be a member of the Competitor’s Association to compete in this show.

Upcoming Rallies

As you would be aware a survey went out last week to find out which day members preferred rallies be held.

At the Committee meeting on Thursday Mel revealed that results were even in preference for Friday and Saturday night rallies. However Friday night suits our chief instructor Rebecca, and really, we don’t want to have Pony Club without her!

So until such time as we have more available instructors to teach on a Saturday night, rallies will have to remain at the advertised Friday night. Apologies to those who are inconvenienced for the next three rallies. Hopefully we can overcome this issue in the future when our trainee instructors have finished their log books.

Could everyone also note that Friday night rallies will start at 7pm.

Rally Tonight starting 7pm

Following a Committee Meeting held last night, YES there will be a rally held this evening!

The rally will start at 7pm, not the previously mentioned time of 6pm.

The forecast for today is 41, hence the later starting time as we can always ride under lights.

You can email Rebecca (claython@bigpond.com) to let her know if you are still attending tonight.

Vote for summer rally schedule!

Hi All

As you are all aware the next Pony Club is on this Friday night, starting at 6pm.

Many of you have raised valid points on the structure of these rallies, whether they be on Friday or Saturday night or a normal Sunday morning etc.

So we would like people to give us their preferred times.

All you need to do is email Melenee back with either A, B or C. After she has all the results, they will be discussed with the committee and Rebecca.

Remember this is only until the end of the hot weather (because really we haven’t had any this season yet)

OPTIONS

A                             Friday Night Rally starting at 7pm and going for 2 hours.

B                             Saturday Night Rally starting at 7pm and going for 2 hours

C                             Sunday Morning Rally starting at 9am and going for 2 hours.

CLICK HERE TO EMAIL YOUR PREFERRED OPTION TO MELENEE!

Secretary away!

Just letting everyone know that I (Amelia) will be away from tomorrow (Friday 20th) until December (sometime around the 10th I think???). I won’t have internet access, so will not be updating the website or answering emails.

Lynn will be here for the next couple of weeks (then she will be away as well) for any general inquiries – horseegals@bigpond.com.

Rebecca is the go-to person for questions/suggestions with the upcoming rallies etc – claython@bigpond.com

Melenee can help you out with any and all other Pony Club matters and queries regarding the instructors clinic – ellards.4@bigpond.com

Cheers!

Friday Rally

Well our first Friday evening rally for the warmer months was a good day, glad that we did decide to change the date from Sunday to Friday as the weather has been pretty warm and looking to get even hotter!

We welcomed two new members today, Deborah Madden and Bethany Tully.

Some of our other members who have been training for their D Certificates also did their testing today! I’m pleased to announce that Cassidy Mundy, Heidi Stokes, Jade Simes, Kimberly Sunman, Sophie Haigh and Tom Struck all passed their D Certificate test. Their paperwork will now be sent to the PCASA and they will earn a certificate and badge which can be sewn onto their Pony Club Jumpers.

Certificate training will be continued over the next few rallies so that we can hold another D Certificate day, and those riders who have their D’s can then earn their D*.

All in all a good day and now looking forward to the Sleepover which is the next event on the agenda (members please noting that the rally which was scheduled for Sunday 22nd has been cancelled)!
