Port Augusta Pony Club Competition Weekend

—– HORSE TRIALS CANCELLED —–

The Port Augusta Pony Club has unfortunately been forced to cancel the 2012 Horse Trials, due to the loss of a part of our cross country course.

We have decided to still hold a fun weekend filled with dressage, jumping and fine food!

Instead of a Horse Trials and separate Dressage competition, this year we will be holding dressage, a jumping derby and a combined derby.

THE PORT AUGUSTA PONY CLUB HORSE TRIALS WILL BE BACK…better than ever next year!

—– WHAT IS A DERBY? —–

The Port Augusta Pony Club Derby will be a timed round comprising showjumping and cross country fences. We will incorporate our portable cross country fences amongst our standard show jumps throughout the main area of the Pony Club grounds.

A derby is a showjumping event, not a horse trials, and competitors do not need to be a member of a pony club (day attendance is available) and do not need to be riding a pony club qualified mount.

As we are unable to hold our horse trials this year we hope the derby will provide some excitement and even encourage those who may not want to go cross country to give some cross country style fences a try.

We hope you will continue to support our event this year, and in the years to come. We look forward to seeing you in June!

Saturday Rally

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share with you some photos of our fantastic Pony Club meet today. A huge thank you to Sarah McMahon who took the session and shared her expertise and knowledge of mounted games with the junior members.

Congratulations to all the members who participated and gave all games a good go!
Most importantly they had fun and helped getting the games set up and put away at the end of the session. The games that where practised will be those included in the zones elimination so a great lead up to this event.

Thank you also to the Mums, Dad’s and to Pop (Peter) who assisted throughout the morning.

The next rally will be held this coming Saturday March 31st at 9.30am. Sarah will be going through mounted games to once again practice for the zone eliminations .

Cheers
Verity

Mounted Games Weekend

Hi Everyone,

For those riding members who are planning to participate at this weekend’s Mounted Games event could you please confirm whether you will be attending the dinner on the Saturday night at the Club house. It is essential we know numbers of riders and supporters who will be attending so catering maybe organised.

Dinner

The menu for dinner is yet to be confirmed however a costing of $8-$10pp for meat & salad (quite possible schnitzel) and dessert will be available at the club house Saturday night .

Donations of either a salad or sweet would be greatly appreciated.

For those who are able to donate a salad or sweet for dinner could you please contact me asap with what you will be bringing so Tracey may organize extras to be made.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be available at a small charge on Sunday morning. Please notify Dennis if requiring Brekkie.

Canteen

Dennis McMahon mentioned that many of the supporters have offered to help in the canteen and on the grounds over the weekend. I would like to put a roster together for the canteen and forward to Dennis & Sarah ASAP so could you please let me know if you are available to help out for an hour or 2 either Saturday or Sunday.

Your support over the weekend would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
